Escape, Relax without Leaving the City
Two local companies team up to bring Queen City residents a worldly spa and culinary experience that's fit for a queen.

Jet setting off to a foreign country for a spa weekend really can drain your savings account, so Candy Silvasy, owner of Art of the Spa, and the Cooking with Caitlin trio have joined forces to offer Cincinnati residents an out-of-this-country experience with their Spa Trip Tuesdays.
Each Spa Trip will take place at a different local spa and features treatments from a destination spa, which is a spa geared toward a complete getaway instead of just individual in-and-out services. "These spas [the destination spas] offer an entire spa lifestyle experience that you can immerse yourself in," Silvasy says.
All of the destination spas chosen will be in a different country and will have been tested personally by Silvasy. Some of the possible picks include Verdura Golf & Spa Resort in Italy and Forest Mere in England.
When guests arrive, they will learn more about the destination spa and its country from a fun video and presentation by a travel agent. During the presentation and throughout the rest of the evening, guests will be able to nibble on the culinary creations of Cooking with Caitlin.

Caitlin Steininger, the chef element of the Cooking with Caitlin trio, will provide three or four different dishes in petit-four sized portions inspired by the cuisine of the destination spa's country. "Caitlin is loyal to authentic flavors and ingredients, but she's known to put her own twist on flavors and traditions," says Kelly Trush, who handles the events side of the Cooking with Caitlin operation, so guests can expect to be wooed and wowed.
After the presentation, guests will receive two treatments out of a selection of about four services. All treatments will be the specialties of the destination spa, brought to Cincinnati by Silvasy, who will learn each treatment directly from the destination spa's director.
Silvasy expects the Spa Trip Tuesdays to happen on a bi-monthly basis with the first one taking flight 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Tanyas Image & Wellness Salon. The fee will change depending on the local spa, but it will be around $40 per person, which includes the presentation, the food and two spa services (not to mention the experience).
